Oracle Park Playlist

  • Primarily pop music today. It sets a very energetic and loose tone throughout the ballpark.

Bunt Defense

  • The Giants began their morning workout with a light warm-up, but quickly covered bunt defense. While it might not be the most exciting task, quality bunt defense can be crucial in one-run ball games.
  • Today they worked on the “Wheel Play” (see below)

On Field BP

  • BP Rotations:
  • Group 2 Notes:
    • Posey starting the round off with two solid bunts
      • Every pitch was then slapped opposite field, most line drives
    • Crawford starts with a liner up the middle, then continues to hit the Alaska Airlines sign (ie about 10 feet foul, but home run distance)
      • Bradon spread the ball more than Posey but had a few sly outs
    • Buster turning on the power in his second round, pulling everything. He hit an impressive ground-rule double right over the Chevron sign
      • Third round showing some signs of fatigue, be he hit two balls that almost went over the center-field wall to end the round.
      • He just went deep on the first pitch of his 4th round; make that two homers now.

  • The 3 group Summer Camp workout format for the Giants could be changed as soon as tomorrow

Notable Quotable – Johnny Cueto Zoom Call

  • Q: What is your level of concern, does it change each?
    • A: “It’s a very difficult situation, I’m scared for my family…I flew from the Dominican, I’m already here.”
  • “I’m ready, I kept myself in pitching shape (in the Dominican)…I am ready to pitch the first game, that is not my decision, that is the manager/s decision” -Cueto on being ready for Opening Day in almost 3 weeks.
